FAQ
Common questions about Meeting Audio Focus.
Does Meeting Audio Focus record my meetings?
No. The extension captures the active tab's audio locally through Chrome's tabCapture API, processes it in an offscreen AudioContext, and plays it through your selected output device. Nothing is recorded, transcribed, or uploaded.
How is this different from AI meeting assistants?
AI meeting assistants join your calls as bots, record audio, and send it to the cloud for transcription. Meeting Audio Focus does none of that. It processes audio locally on your device to make voices clearer — no bots, no recording, no cloud.
What does the voice clarity processing do?
It applies high-pass filtering to remove low-frequency rumble, a presence boost to make speech frequencies more prominent, and light compression to even out volume levels. The result is clearer, more intelligible speech.
What are the voice modes?
Clear Voice (free) enhances speech clarity. Natural (Pro) provides a balanced sound. Bright Voice (Pro) emphasizes higher frequencies for extra crispness. All processing is local.
Does it work with Zoom, Teams, Google Meet?
Yes. Meeting Audio Focus works with any browser-based meeting, class, webinar, or video tab. If the audio plays in a Chrome tab, it works.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free includes Clear Voice mode and one active focus session. Pro adds Natural and Bright Voice modes, unlimited simultaneous focus sessions, and priority support.
Is my audio data sent anywhere?
No. All audio processing happens locally on your device using the Web Audio API. The extension only contacts external services for billing and Pro status checks.
